Comic Book and Beer Pairing Event with Carol and John’s Comic Book Shop and Great Lakes Brewery
Comic Book and Beer Pairing Event with Carol and John’s Comic Book Shop and Great Lakes Brewery!
Pairing up All-Star Superman #1 with Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold Lager (one is 75 years old and the other is 25!)? How about Captain America #1 with Great Lakes Eliot Ness Amber Lager (Both were true heroes from the Golden Age)? Or how about drinking a Great Lakes Nosferatu Imperial Red Ale while enjoying an issue of Batman: The Long Halloween (both meant to be enjoyed in the fall season)?
Carol and John’s Comic Books (CNJ Comics) and Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) team up to for Cleveland Beer Week to bring you Cleveland’s first Beer and Comic Book Pairing event! Sound crazy? This summer at The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Revolution Brewery’s beer and comic panel filled up all seats and the standing room floor, turning people away at the door. This is the first time this type of event has been attempted in Cleveland. “If you can talk informatively about two subjects, then you’ve got something there. Like beer and comics,” says Carol and John’s Comic Shop owner John Dudas. To add to the credibility of the event, author and Case Western Reserve University teacher Brad Ricca will be there to lend his two cents on the pairings. Ricca will be selling and signing copies of Super Boys, which Stan Lee called “a truly amazing biography.”
