It’s that time of year again as we begin to collect food for our yearly food drive and prepare for our awesome Christmas Customer Appreciation Party!
Every year we do a food drive hand in hand with Pop The Comic Culture Club. Pop is a comic book club in North East Ohio that while not affiliated with the shop, shares many of the same principles of community action along with a love of pop culture. From December 2nd till December 21st we’ll be collecting food items at the shop. With the support of Pop we’re able to offer a free comic book from the dollar bins for each item brought in! The limit to this is three comic books a day! (But please feel free to bring in as much food as you’d like)

This all culminates on December 21st at our Christmas Party from 8pm to 11pm! To make the food drive and party even more fun we’re turning it into an art show to help our food drive endeavors!

Are you a local artist looking for a little free promotion and a way to turn your skills into food for Cleveland’s needy? We can help you with that! (Actually, you’re helping us, and we are ever grateful for that)
If you would like to submit a sketch cover for the shop’s art show just stop by the shop and grab one. They are basically blank cover with just a logo on them. Here’s what one looks like completed:
You can use any hero or cover you’d like, and the theme is Christmas and the holidays! Drop the book off by December 18th with your URL and contact information. We’ll be displaying the art all day on the 21st, culminating with a basket raffle for the artwork at the party that night. One piece of food or one dollar gets you one ticket for the raffle! We’ll be sure to professionally photograph all the artwork for posterity, and display it on our facebook page with your contact information! Everybody wins. Plus we’ll make sure you’ve got a swanky lanyard identifying you as a contributing artist at the Christmas Party!
We’d also like to mention a group that we sponsor here, The Cleveland Drink and Draw Social Club! Meeting twice a month, the first Wednesday of the month at Great Lakes Brewing Company and the Third Thursday of the month at Lava Lounge, the Club promotes an open atmosphere of meeting other Cleveland artists and learning from each others skills. While drinking. They provide us with a great deal of support throughout the year, and we’re proud to be one of their sponsors! Check them out here:
