New Comic Releases for the Week of 1-27-2016
A quick email this week as we finish out the first month of 2016. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 27th, 2016.
MARVEL TITLES
Not only has Marvel decided to keep Old Man Logan in the All New All Different Universe, they’ve given him his own title as well.
Jeff Lemire, who executed a successful follow up to Fraction’s run on Hawkeye, will be taking over for Bendis and Millar on the new Old Man Logan #1. Andrea Sorrentino will still be doing art, following his run with Bendis during Secret Wars. Lemire and Sorrentino had a good run on Green Arrow together as well. How can Logan stop the atrocities of the Wasteland he comes from from happening in the new Marvel Universe? By killing everyone responsible.
Marvel’s flagship Avengers and X-Men titles are both out this week, and they’ve earned this spot through their creative teams.
Lemire’s writing Extraordinary X-Men as well as Old Man Logan, with art by Humberto Ramos. Logan’s a part of this team as well, so Lemire has a pretty good grip on what’s going on with the character. The team drops into Weirdworld this month.
All New All Different Avengers by Mark Waid has been a nice change of pace from Hickman’s never ending story. (I was a big fan of Secret Wars #9 by the way, and consider it a great Doom / Richards story. It’s an issue I like to talk about with people because a lot of the finer points weren’t really spelled out.) Cool new team going in new directions and what looks like a romance between Thor and Captain America. (Though you never can quite tell what you’re looking at with Alex Ross covers lately.)
VALIANT
We’d also like to shed some light on a very different heroine from Valiant Comics, Faith.

We enthusiastically applaud Valiant’s latest four issue mini series.
