Featured New Releases for 6-6-2018

We’ve got five new number one’s hitting the table this week, and they’ve all turned out to be fun reads!
Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, June 6th, 2018! ( D-day! )

BOOK OF THE WEEK

The book of the week if the new Justice League by Scott Snyder and Jim Cheung, who recently came over from Marvel Comics.

Snyder only had a co-writing credit on Justice League No Justice, but you can definitely feel his presence as the only writer here. Cheung came ready to impress, as the work he put into this issue is phenomenal. A great starting point and it looks like it’s going to feature the return of the Legion of Doom. (which has been a hit since the 70’s. You can’t go wrong with a Super Villain team.)

MARVEL # 1’s

Next comes Deadpool #1 from Marvel Comics!

Skottie Young has taken over as writer and Wade has gone back to Merc’ing for a living. There’s a parental advisory rating on this one, and with Young’s work on “I Hate Fairyland” over at Image, we understand why.

Mark Waid pulls double duty this week, first with a new Ant-Man and the Wasp five-issue mini-series timed to coincide with the new movie next month.

It has art by Marvel Young Gun Javier Garron, so the book is looking great too!

Waid’s also taking over Doctor Strange this month with a new #1.

Donny Cates run will be tough to beat, but we’re excited to see Waid take Stephen to the stars!

Lastly, the book I thought would suck turned out to be an A Plus, The Immortal Hulk #1.

Al Ewing has never really written anything that I’ve liked, so this book was a total surprise. Relevant with a story about gun violence, and the new status quo looks to be Hulk and Banner co-existing in their old Night and Day arrangement.

Seriously, check this one out. I haven’t read Hulk in years and I’m glad to be back.

That’s it! We also got copies of Amazing #800 back in, with several different covers available. Thanks for making it the best selling book of the year!

We’ll also be doing a small promotion for Father’s Day on June 17th, with Father – Daughter and Father-Son coloring posters that Marvel has made for us.

Save the date for our ‘Not-At-Comicon’ Sale from July 19th to the 22nd. It’s one of only two times that we get to pull all the comics out of our storage locker for only $1 each. We also have a special announcement coming up about this week’s sale. Something cool on the final day that we’ve never done before.

That’s it! School’s out! Enjoy the summer!
