Featured New Releases for 10-30-2019

It’s the fifth Wednesday in a month, which usually means a small week. Not this time! We’ve got some great new releases for a (possibly) rainy Halloween Day!

Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 30th, 2019!

Featured Comics

There have been quite a few new Joker and Harley books, but the one we’re most excited about comes out this week, Joker Killer Smile by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino!

Lemire and Sorrentino have done some great work together, including Green Arrow and Old Man Logan. They’re perfectly suited to a story about the Joker being psychoanalyzed. A new issue of Harleen is this week as well.

Both Marvel and DC have Zombie books this week, the final issue of DCeased, as well as a new Marvel Zombies One Shot.

Great Gotham Girls Zombie cover!

Galactus’ dead body is floating through space and finds it’s way into our solar system with a virus attached to it!

If you’ve been enjoying Absolute Carnage, we have a Red Goblin One shot, detailing some lost stories from when Norman Osborn was bonded to the Carnage Symbiote.

Joe Hill, Steven King’s son, begins his new horror Hill House imprint at DC Comics with Basketful of Heads #1.

Hill’s written some great comics in the past, like Locke and Key and The Cape.

John Constantine finds his way back to the Sandman Universe with the Hellblazer Special!

It’s not Halloween related but Excalibur #1 is out this week, and is a very anticipated new X-Title, mostly because Apocalypse is on the team.

This week we also have a $1.00 True Believer Reprint of Moira MacTaggert’s first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #96.

The Announcement

That X-Men #96 reference was also my lazy segue-way into a pretty big announcement for us. We have just signed a contract to have the legendary Chris Claremont at Free Comic Book Day next year!

This is HUGE!

An unbroken 17 year run on Uncanny X-Men, 7.6 million copies of X-men #1, Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, God Loves Man Kills. Creator of Kitty Pryde, Rogue, Mystique, Legion, Gambit, Sabertooth and many more. Chris will be around for both the night and day event on May 1st and 2nd! Obviously more details to come, but prepare yourself! In the spirit of the day, Chris has even agreed to one free signature for everyone!

Thank You

We’d like to thank everyone for a really great Halloween ComicFest! We’ll be getting the pictures up on our Facebook page soon, but the day was a tremendous success!

Next up, Local Comic Shop Day on Saturday, November 23rd. Our Black Friday Sale Event is on Friday, November 29th! (It’s our longest running shop event!) The sale continues into the weekend with Small Business Saturday On November 30th, where you purge the big box demon from your body and visit your favorite local business.

We also have our yearly Christmas Party/Art Show/FoodBank Fundraiser on Saturday, December 21st! Whew.

Thanks again for supporting us now and through the holiday season!
