Free Comic Book Day Summer at CNJComics

Well, in case you haven’t heard, Free Comic Book Day is now Free Comic Book Day Summer!

Free Comic Book Summer

Free Comic Book Summer will now stretch out over nine weeks, with five to six books coming out each week.

You can check here for a full list of what’s coming out and when!

If you’re a file customer, no worries, we’ve got you covered. Come in the shop and fill out a checklist and we’ll have ten books of your choice dropped into your file over the course of the nine weeks. Other wise we’ll be releasing the rest of the books each Saturday starting at 10am. These books will be distributed right out side the shop so that we can control and maintain the amount of people allowed in the shop. You can take one of each book, so please do not browse through the copies, just pick them up and you’re good to go.

Three things will keep everyone safe. Families should keep six feet apart on the chalk marks we’ll have lined up on the ground. Everyone must wear a mask to get free books. Everyone should sanitize their hands with the touchless dispenser I built that will be there right before you enter the free comic table.

Here are the books that will be available this Saturday:

(All books are rated All Ages this week except X-men, which is rated Teen.)

Books will be out until supplies are gone, first come first serve. If there’s room in the shop come on in! We’ll have an employee keeping count of our occupancy to keep us legit. If you can’t or don’t feel comfortible coming in no worries, try to come back some time and spend a little with us at your leisure! What can you do to help out with Free Comic Book Day (er, summer) this year? Buy a print like always for $5. (pictured above, an homage to Uncanny X-Men #137 by Jameson Campbell.) Seriously, if everyone bought a print for $5 we’d be fine. Buying the print is our “GoFundMe” for FCBSummer!

Community Updates

But wait, there’s more! We had an amazing partnership going with the Cleveland Public Library and the Ohio Center for the Book to provide programing for this year’s Free Comic Book Day. That fell through but one amazing relic left over was this 11×17 print by Sina Grace, showing the connection a city has to it’s library and comic shop. We’ll be giving this print away FREE during FCBSummer!

Thanks to Valentino for reaching out to Sina to put this piece of artwork together. (It’s incredibly calming to me.)

Please help us to keep FCBD Summer as safe as possible everyone. If you feel sick, stay home. We want our community to be as safe as possible!

New Releases – Marvel and DC

On to this week’s new releases!

The Kree Skrull War is over, they have now teamed up and are headed to Earth in the much awaited Empyre #1!

Written by Immortal Hulk’s Al Ewing, expect a bit of conflict between the Avengers and the Fantastic Four on how to handle the situation.

Dark Nights Death Metal #2 by Snyder and Capullo is here and it’s awesome!

Wonder Woman in a monster truck with Swamp Thing riding shotgun.

Oh yeah, if you’re not reading Strange Adventures by Tom King, you should be. This is shaping up to be the new Mister Miracle.

I’m a connoisseur of Adam Strange stories and this one hits the mark.

Joker War also continues this week in Nightwing #72, with Dick Grayson meeting Punchline.

Okay, that’s it for this week. Thanks everyone!
