Featured New Releases for 10-21-2020

Hi everybody! The big news this week (well, not really big news) is that I finally decided to sell off my CD collection. I have a policy about not turning the shop into my own private garage sale but like Doc Brown says, “what the heck.” I put 1,800 CD’s in the shop at only $2.00 each, with a focus on Punk Rock, Alt bands, soundtracks, compilations, and some bootlegs and imports. Not your typical stuff! (My father in law went through them and said “I have no idea who these bands are.”)

Please dig through them and enjoy. The price will drop to $1.00 each on Saturday and Sunday then you’ll never see them again. I had alot of fun doing this with some of my vinyl a few years back and I’m just happy someone gets to enjoy the music.

(I may even use the money to by myself a comic book for our 30th Anniversary next week.)

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programing.

Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, October 21st, 2020.

MARVEL BOOKS

Amazing Spider-Man Last Remains is such a big storyline it can’t be contained in the regular ASM issues. The six part storyline runs from issues #50-#55, but issues #50-#54 will also have .LR issues to expand on the story, like this week’s #50.LR .

Also in the Spider Family, Spider-Woman has her 100th issue, though it’s only number #5. (Whomp Whomp Marvel Math.) Lots of fun covers though, like this one by Skottie Young.

We’ll also have three more Black Widow True Believer $1.00 reprints in, including Avengers #111, Champions #7 and the first appearance of Taskmaster in Avengers #196!

These are also books we’ll be giving away for free on Halloween. (see below)

DC Books

On the DC side, King Robin gets his own Dark Nights Death Metal one shot.

Batman White Night Presents Harley Quinn in a new six issue mini series.

Joker is dead, Bruce Wayne is in jail and the city is Harley’s responsibility now.

The Joker War is over but Batman #101 contains a confrontation between Batman and Wildstorm’s Grifter!

Better pick up a copy of Image and Rick Remender’s new Scumbag #1, Ben read a preview and is fully endorcing it. (He also made me order up so he could get the 1:50 variant.)

“NEW ONGOING SERIES from the writer of DEADLY CLASS! RICK REMENDER launches an all-new comedy espionage series, THE SCUMBAG-the story of Ernie Ray Clementine, a profane, illiterate, drug-addicted biker with a fifth-grade education. He’s the only thing standing between us and total Armageddon because this dummy accidentally received a power-imbuing serum, making him the world’s most powerful super spy. This new ongoing series will feature a murderers’ row of all-star artistic talent rotating each issue. The first issue showcases the stunning work of LEWIS LaROSA, with subsequent chapters and covers by brilliant talents such as ANDREW ROBINSON, ERIC POWELL, TULA LOTAY, WES CRAIG, ROLAND BOSCHI, SIMONE DI MEO, MARGUERITE SAUVAGE, DUNCAN FEGREDO, YANICK PAQUETTE, MIKE McKONE, DAVE JOHNSON, MORENO DINISIO, and many more!”

Sounds fun.

THIS IS HALLOWEEN

We already had an email this week about our trick or treating event on Saturday October 31st. In case you missed it here’s a link to all that info.

We will keep it safe as we have been and will continue to do.

We’ll also have a few cool things going on for our anniversary next Wednesday on the 28th, so think about stopping by to say hello. 30 years. Jeez. My first memory is that Super Friends water ski show at Sea World when I was four in 1976, so I always say that all I’ve ever know was comic books and super heroes. I’d never want to imagine a world without either. Thanks so much for helping make this dream a reality. Always grateful.

Now come on in this week and buy some CD’s!!!
