Here’s all the info on this year’s Holiday Party / Sale / and Fundraiser for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank!
Yes! Our in-person Holiday Party is back!
First up, let’s talk about our annual Art Show! For years we’ve been hosting an art show where local artists of all backgrounds create custom comic book covers that we display in the foyer attached to the shop. This year’s theme is “Spider-Verse,” and the show will run from Wednesday, December 14th, to Saturday, December 17th. Covers are won through a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket toward the cover of your choice. (You can also get a six-pack of tickets for five dollars.) All the money collected goes to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank , who has the incredible power to turn one dollar into four full meals for those in need! With your support over the years, we have helped them create well over 100,000 meals!

By request (and a little something we learned during the pandemic), we will post a gallery of the covers on Facebook on Friday evening, Dec 16th. You may then buy tickets remotely by calling a credit card at 216-252-0606 from 12 PM – 6 PM on Saturday. We will put the tickets toward the cover(s) that you want. Please have the numbers of the covers ready to go. We are only doing this on Saturday! (You can also just call in a donation and tell it to put the tickets into different baskets randomly.)
The art show has become one of the most important things we do each year, and the support we get from everyone is inspiring. Whether you’re an artist who creates a cover, or a customer who buys some tickets, it all becomes one big win for the community. We support the Cleveland Food Bank because they are beyond reproach, doing the work to help people that we can all get behind. Hungry people need access to good food.
From the beginning of the Art Show until Christmas Eve (12-14 to 12-24) we will also be having our holiday sale, featuring:
50% off all back issues (not including the wall books; unfortunately, we just bought a few collections and want to keep those keys coming out on the wall through the holidays.)
20% off all statues and action figures.
During this period, we will also bring the four textless 11×17 prints out that we had made, free with any purchase. They’re there till we run out, and this is our present to you.
The Art Show will culminate on Saturday, December 17th, when we pull the winners at the end of our Holidays Party that night. YES! The Holiday Party is back, and ALL are invited. We haven’t had the party since 2019, and we’re excited to get back at it again. We’ll close the shop at 7 pm as normal, only to reopen from 8 pm to 11 pm for the party. First up, everyone in attendance will get to use this coupon for 50% off ANY one item.
There will be One coupon per person which must be used at the party, with no exceptions. (Yes, you can use this coupon to buy a wall book at 50% off.)
Winston also feels generous this year, so the first 100 people in the door will get a free HeroCats graphic novel. (You can thank him for that.)
We will also have an open bar, as well as some light snacks that we’re still in the process of locking down. Macklin will be returning as our regular shop bartender, so while the drinks are free, please consider tipping. That’s what heroes do. They tip. There’s also a good chance Santa will be making and appearance as well. Last time we saw him he was riding around with Carol.
We also set up photo op areas, so be sure to wear your holiday finest. At 10:30 pm, we start to pull the winners to the covers, so be sure to get your tickets in early. You do not need to be present to win, but it sure is fun if you are! Winners take home their covers that night!
