Andrea’s Nightcrawling Picks for 02.15.2023
Hi Comic Shop Friends!
First, a reminder that Late Nite Comics is this Thursday, the 16th! We’ll stay open until midnight and put out forty boxes of ALL DC books from the 60s to the present for $1 each! These have not been out before, and John says there are some gems, so come by and take a look. And all back issues (except the wall books) will be 50% off!
Another reminder, if you missed the letter in your file, is that the 10% off file discount ended on the 13th, and as John goes over the 2022 books, the more he sees that it was a necessary move. We will still have the 25% off back issues discount every day!
Also, at the end of the month, John, Ben, Kyle, and I are heading to Pittsburgh for the ComicsPro retailer summit so we can make connections to keep the shop awesome, and while we’re away: Raf will be returning! He’ll be in for a few days to help out, so come in and catch up with him!

Director of The Ladies Man! Writer of Bebe’s Kids!) and Leon Chills with art by Denys Cowan and Yasmin Florez Montanez. Hardware discovers a time machine and, obsessed with righting the wrongs of the past, he uses it, not caring that he may unravel the fabric of time. Aftershock presents a prestige format horror one-shot from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Rodrigo Zayas. Sometimes ghosts follow you. Sometimes guilt manifests as a malevolent spirit. Something is in the walls of George’s new house. Something rotting. Something hungry. And it does not like what George is doing.
Featuring three stories inspired by horror movies, by Micol Ostow and Laura Braga, Casey Gilly, and Carola Borelli, and Sam Maggs and Natalie Nardozza, Betty the Final Girl finds our heroine alone at Veronica’s mountain cabin. Is she really alone? Is someone out to get her? Or are the movies she’s watching messing with her mind and blurring fiction and reality?
The first of two Image series premieres this week! Michelle Metcalf is a happy-go-lucky hero called Crackerjack, with a “sidekick”, Slipstream. She manages to balance crime-fighting during the day, and homemaking at night, but when tragedy hits both her work and home lives, she’s forced to cross the line from hero to vigilante. Written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by Justin Greenwood.
Sylv is a jack of all trades, but in this world, if you aren’t a guild member, you’re cast out from adventuring. This series premiere from Brian Haberlin and Geirrod Van Dyke follows Sylv and her seven-foot-tall brother, Shadow, as she tries to find a job to pay rent, buy beer, and survive. Her only option comes from a sketchy cleric working outside the guilds. She has the skills, but will they be enough to help her survive a hero’s journey?
