MARVEL COMICS

The issue was so good John Shearer had to call Ben at home to talk about it! This legacy #925 is packed with three stories that set up the next big things in Amazing Spider-Man, and nine other shorts, some of which continue in Spider-Woman #1, Spider-Boy #1, and others! There are Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, a wedding, a goose, a Spidey super-fan, a Jackpot, and more! Written by Zeb Wells with art by John Romita Jr, Emilio Laiso, and Ze Carlos.

And speaking of Spider-Man, the Spider-Man Annual is part one of the Contest of Chaos event! It’s Spider-Man versus Wolverine! Continuing from the Scarlet Witch Annual, newly rejuvenated Agatha Harkness has a plan to build a new Darkhold, but what do some of Marvel’s biggest heroes have to do with it? After grabbing a burger and climbing through his window, Spider-Man finds himself in a strange magical city. And why is Wolverine there? From writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Alberto Foche.

Speaking of Wolverine, Ghost Rider /Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance Alpha kicks off an arc that continues in Ghost Rider #17 and Wolverine #3, written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Geoff Shaw. Years ago, Wolverine and Ghost Rider were both on the trail of a demonic presence but lost sight of it when they battled each other. Now that demon has struck again, the two team up, but can they keep their focus on the evil they’re tracking, or will they end up fighting each other like before? This book “will melt your eyes and detonate your heart with excitement!”

DC COMICS

More Knight Terrors! This week we have Knight Terrors #3 (It’s a Deadman and Damian team-up! The Dead versus The Sleepless! And a visit to the House of Horror!), The Flash (Flash gets monstrous!), Green Lantern, Robin (Tim and Jason are soaked in a sweet marinade of defeat!), Shazam (Written by Mark Waid! Get a copy for his signing!), and Zatanna (Magic booby traps!).

This issue from writer Joshua Williamson with art by Mahmud Asrar, Edwin Galmon, Caitlin Yarsky, Max Raynor, and Jack Herbert leads into a massive Superman crossover in 2024! The City of Tomorrow is now the City of Secrets. Editor-in-chief Lois Lane is still an investigative reporter at heart, so she is set on uncovering this new set of secrets. Featuring the Daily Planet team, Livewire, Parasite, Marilyn Moonlight, and more!

SMALL PRESS

From Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips, the duo behind That Texas Blood comes a new mini-series set 150 years in the past in Ambrose County, Texas. The design of this book is amazing, and the story is great too. Telling the story of Montgomery Enfield and his outlaw gang, “Of his dark deeds, I shall remind you. If’n you’ve got the belly for it.” It’s a gunslinging Western thriller set in a county that’s hungry for law, with the Enfield Gang finding themselves the target of an aging Texas Ranger.

From writer Shane Berryhill and artist Hoyt Silva, Comic Books Kill is a 1930s set noir following aspiring comic creator Jack Levi, who puts his career, and life on the line after he meets the femme fatale lover of his mafia boss publisher.

Horror double feature! This new bi-monthly limited series from Jay Stephens features two complete tales in each 72-page issue! Definitely not for kids! All set in the city of Elwich, Ontario, Canada, the first story follows a murder of crows and a killing spree. The second is about a Psych student investigating a case of Foreign Language Syndrome who uncovers demonic possession and a Satanic cult. It’s creepy and cute!
