Hey Comic Shop Friends! Welcome to another exciting week of comics!

Late Nite Comics is back this Thursday, the 17th, from 8 pm to midnight! It’s the one-year anniversary of Late Nite, so come out and celebrate this milestone with us! The table will be full of dollar stock, and back issues will be 50% off! Including the wall books! Also, since this is a special occasion, if you get 100 or more $1 books, they will be 50 cents each!

John also brought in a ton of ties so we can be fancy, and there’s enough for everyone if you feel like dressing up!

The Fall of X is in full force this week with a bunch of X-Men titles!

Alpha Flight is back to save Canada! From mutants! It’s time for a new squad of Avengers after the attacks on the U.S. and Krakoan governments and the increased anti-mutant hysteria. Psylocke and Penance are working out their rage on Orchis, and Captain America has some experience fighting fascism, so when he asks them to join him, Deadpool, Quicksilver, and Rogue, they agree to become the newest members of the Uncanny Avengers! DC COMICS

If you didn’t read the backup stories from Chip Zdarsky and Belen Ortega in Batman issues #125 – #127, Penguin #0 collects them all and sets up the story that will continue in Penguin #1 from Tom King and Rafael De Latorre that’s out later this month! After Penguin’s death, Catwoman is contacted by the Executor to track down the Penguin’s heirs, but they are being murdered. Now she has to find the killer and figure out what really happened to Oswald Cobblepot.

Another week, another night of Knight Terrors! This week is #2s of Catwoman (Why’d it have to be snakes?), Nightwing (It’s Meatball Monday in Arkham!), Punchline (“I did it. I beat the internet.”), Superman (“Why couldn’t this just be a nice dream about cats?”), and Wonder Woman (“The more you accommodate man’s world, the more your rage builds.”). Time for another Chilling Adventure… in Science! Danni Malloy has accidentally created a time machine, and when she receives a mysterious message from former friend Dilton Doiley, she and Jinx Holliday have to find out when he is. But something has gone wrong, and now all three have to figure out how to get out of the warped Riverdale they are trapped in. Writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Butch K. Mapa explore Danni’s personal history, time travel (featuring a cameo of Bill and Ted’s phone booth!), and being true to oneself.

We have the exclusive ashcan Tasting Menu edition of Ram V and Filipe Andrade’s new series, Rare Flavours! Strictly limited to its first printing, this edition gives us a preview of the duo’s return, which mixes the supernatural, and the world of chef-driven celebrity with a dash of Indian cuisine. The first course is served this September.

A new five-issue mini-series from writer Kelly Thompson and artist Mattia De Iulis, that’s Goonies mixed with horror and otherworldly creatures. Five friends head out to Black Water Beach to film on a mysterious rock in the water. But Cleo hasn’t told the others why she really wants to go there, and they will find something that will change their lives in a way they could not have predicted.
