Hi Comic Shop Friends! I hope you’re all safe and with power after last week’s storms. We were lucky the shop didn’t lose power and we could provide you with reading material while the internet was out. All of us here lost power at home, and as of Tuesday morning, all have it back again. What a week! As we all deal with unexpected costs due to the storm, we understand if you need more time to pick up your books, just let us know, and we’ll be happy to hold them.

But on that note, if you do have the budget for books:

This Thursday the 15th is Late Nite Comics! 50% off back issues! Tons of dollar stock! And like we announced last week, all sales of dollar books, including Late Nite, will be donated to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

We’ll be taking what we collect and adding it to the total at Eddie P Comic Con on Saturday, August 24th.

Amanda Waller’s quest for Absolute Power continues with two tie-in issues this week:

Dick Grayson is gathering what heroes remain to bolster the resistance, but even with the new allies, it may not be enough to protect their hidden lair from Failsafe! Everyone in Gotham knows, “Batman always wins.” With things getting harder each year, and no justice for wrongdoings, the city has no choice but to keep the faith and keep repeating, “Batman always wins.” But which Batman this time? The Dark Knight? Or Failsafe, relentless, with all of Batman’s skills and none of his morals? A solid story from writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Claire Roe.

In Jeremy Adams and Fernando Pasarin’s tie-in issue, Hal Jordan must use the weapons of some of the villains to escape Amanda Waller’s clutches and reconnect with the heroes who are set to strike back! Meanwhile, Carol sets out on a mission to help others, learning what it means to be a hero along the way. In the backup story, witness the rise of the Shadow Lanterns by Marc Guggenheim and Darick Robertson.

DC Vs Vampires returns as part of DC’s new Elseworlds line! It’s World War V in Matthew Rosenberg and Otto Schmidt’s twelve issue series.
