We’re living in One World Under Doom now. Marvel starts three Doom event mini-series this week, along with two tie-in issues, X-Factor #7 and Storm #5.
Writer Mackenzie Cadenhead and artist Pasqual Ferry invite the former Strange Academy students to attend the new Sorcerer Supreme’s Doom Academy. Relocated from New Orleans to Latveria, the Strange students, and some staff, are starting the semester with new friends and new threats, new magic and new cliques. And paintings of Doom everywhere, that may or may not be watching everything. Joining the Doom Academy Dispatch, Zoe and Doyle meet Scoop, who gives them the scoop on the school, and on the mysterious voice Zoe hears in her dorm room. Even though they’re not at Strange Academy anymore, things will still be strange because, “You belong to Doom!” For the semester. Students, make sure you sign up for one of the mandatory after school activities, including Dungeons of Doom and the Anti-Reed Society!
With the Thunderbolts, Bucky Barnes took down the Red Skull, and gave Doom the final shot, reminding him of his talent for obliteration. Now that Doom is Emperor, he wants to recruit Bucky as the head of the Fulgur Victoris to thank him. To atone for his unwitting role in Doom’s triumph, Bucky leans into his moniker of Revolution. He’s going to burn it all down. Recruiting Black Widow and Songbird, he aims to break Doom’s engines of fascism, starting with a nuclear weapons lockbox. But Doom has plans to stomp out any revolution, including the Revolution, and he has an unlikely ally on his side. Written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, with art by Tommaso Bianchi, this is definitely the one tie-in book you should be reading alongside the main One World Under Doom title.
“This crew’s gonna go down as the greatest mutant strike team in history! And we’ll call ourselves—Weapon X-Men!” Together on their very own X-team for the first time, it’s Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable, Chamber, and Thunderbird! Recruited for a high-stakes mutant rescue mission, the team heads into the ultimate global hot spot. You can guess where that is, because this is a One World Under Doom tie-in! You can also guess that things are not going to go as planned, especially since this issue starts off with an attack on Wolverine that affects his abilities… Who’s behind the attack? Who called them to Latveria? Who’s behind the attack on the team there?! Only writer Joe Casey and artist ChrisCross know!
