Andrea’s Assorted Crisis Picks for 03.12.2025
Hi Comic Shop Friends! We have some great things happening in the shop this month!
Late Nite Comics is coming up on Thursday the 20th! 8 pm to midnight! Get ready for tons and tons of dollar stock, and 50% off back issues!
It’s also time for our annual Winston-World sale! From Friday, March 21st, through Sunday, March 23rd, back issues will be 50% off, and you get 10% off everything else in the shop! (That is not already discounted.)
On Sunday the 30th, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss will be here for a free signing! We’ll have free copies of their new #1s for the first hundred people! We read early previews of both of them, and they are worth picking up. We’re Taking Everyone Down with Us is a mix of James Bond, Venture Bros, and family mystery. You’ll Do Bad Things is a giallo-esque true crime horror about a writer who may or may not be directly involved in the murders.
We have some of their past titles up on the counter for you to check out!
Are you watching Daredevil Born Again? It kicked off with a bang! I’m anxiously awaiting the new episodes and if you need something to fill the time in between, we’re featuring some great Daredevil graphic novels!
Get ready for the Summer of Superman! John restocked a bunch of evergreen Superman graphic novels to get you hyped!
MARVEL COMICS
The Howling Commandos take on Fin Fang Foom in J. Michael Straczynski and Elena Casagrande’s one-shot! Nick Fury and Red Hargrove are touring England with an air stunt show, America is on the cusp of entering World War II, and a secret team is assembling to assist China. Something is disrupting the Flying Tigers, the special unit assigned to surveillance, and Fury is recruited to figure out the mystery. Is a sleeping behemoth who has woken to the sounds of war behind the sabotage? If that behemoth is Fin Fang Foom, then yep! Another fun read in Straczynski’s series of one-shot team-ups!

Revisit Jim Lee and Chris Claremont’s titanic gatefold-cover and the issue that redefined the X-Men! In 3-D!
DC COMICS
The first story arc of Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval’s Absolute Superman ends here. Brace yourself for the heartbreaking tale of the final fate of Krypton! This has been the slow burn of the DC Absolute titles, with each issue building on Kal-El’s past on Krypton and present on Earth, and we’re seeing the extent of Superman’s power. I’m excited to see what the next story arc holds, and dreading what crushing events may happen.
DC is rich with facsimiles this week!
A full facsimile reprint of one of Batman’s earliest adventures, which first introduced the batarang and his original flying vehicle, the Batgyro!
Dive into the DC Comics debut of Harley Quinn!
The first appearance of John Constantine!
SMALL PRESS COMICS
Deniz Camp and Eric Zawadzki present an anthology series of one-shots of Assorted Crisis Events! Time is having a crisis. The past, present, and future are all out of sorts, with possible variant timelines merging, birth and death happening simultaneously, and multiple apocalypses happening at once. Both surreal and somehow familiar, these are stories of people in crisis, trying to keep on with their lives while the world and reality falls apart around them. This first issue follows Ashley, who witnesses a new apocalypse every week from her window. Are they all real? Who can keep track anymore? She’ll just keep heading out through them to get to work, drink, and scroll through the end of the world.
