Carol will be putting together some nice light appetizers too! (If anyone feels like bringing something, she says small desert items and cookies are best!)
Speaking of Carol, she’ll be making an appearance as Mrs. Claus with our very own Bad Santa Rick around 9pm! (Hey! Santa ain’t got no pockets!) Our staff photographer Laura Wimbels will be around to capture the magic moments you have with these two local holiday legends!
Speaking of costumes, every year we get asked by people if we care if they dress up. It’s a party in a comic book shop! Costumes just make things more fun! Dress up however you like! It’s Christmas!
Holiday music will be provided by yours truly and my lovely wife Apryl!
And the heart and soul of our Christmas Party is the Annual Food Drive with Pop The Comic Culture Club! http://popcomicclub.com/
This year we’ve got something really special going on! Lots of local artists have helped us out by creating custom holiday covers of your favorite comic books! These original pieces of artwork will be on display ALL DAY on the 21st! These covers can be won through a basket raffle system, where you can earn tickets by donating food and money to the shop for the Cleveland Food Bank! Stop in at any point on the 21st (Not just at the party) and you can drop of food and money for a donation. One food item gets you one ticket for the basket raffle along with one comic from the one dollar bins! (Limit 10 comics) You can also just make a financial donation for tickets, one ticket for one dollar, or six tickets for five dollars! Winners of the covers will be drawn live at the party at 10:30pm! You do not have to be present to win!

Thanks again goes to Pop The Comic Culture Club for helping with the logistics and execution of the food drive! They even donated comics to help restock our $1.00 for the event!
OH! Along with all the other stuff we have going above we’ve added something to make the day even better! How is that possible you ask????
All day long on December 21st, stop by the shop and we’ll give you this lithograph for FREE:
The Lithograph is 12 x 18, on cardstock paper and is truly amazing in person! I was given my first comic book by my mother, Carol, at the age of 3 1/2 in 1976. (It was a Super Friends Treasury Edition she bought for me at the Super Friends Water Ski Show at Geagua Lake) The retro artwork for this project was pulled off of a Marvel Treasury Edition from that same year. When I saw the work our graphic designer Jameson Campbell had done on this year’s Christmas advertising campaign, it hit a chord combining the Marvel Comic Book characters from back then with the civic pride I feel in my town today. It was an honor to approve having it modified into a print to give away. If I close my eyes and look back at my childhood, it looks just like this. All I’ve ever know is super heroes and comic books, and it’s how I plan to raise my daughter too. Happy Holidays, from our family to yours.
So, in a nutshell, you get to do some last minute shopping, have a free drink (or two or three) with our usual gang of comic book loving characters, an awesome litho, check out some amazing artwork, donate to the greater good of the food bank, and get a picture taken with Santa and Carol! If this sounds amazing to you please spread the word by sharing this image in your social media!
Part of our success this year is the result of YOU helping to share the message of our events and happenings! Every time your share this image a comic book lover gets another free beer and someone who’s hungry gets a can of food! Cleveland’s the kind of town that cares about stuff like that. 🙂
Thank you again and we’ll see you on the 21st at the Comic Book Shop!
