New comic releases for the week of 6-4-2014

We’re looking at a week with some great artwork, new titles, and stuff we’re really excited about! (including the start of DC’s new accessible variant program starting with this week’s Bombshell variants!)

Let’s take a look at our featured new releases for the week of Wednesday, June 4th, 2014!

We’re going to start with an indie release that’s gotten quite a bit of buzz around the shop! Big Trouble in Little China #1 from BOOM Studios!

It’s one of those things you either get or you don’t. One of my top 20 movies of all time. The ultimate anti hero written by Eric Powell (the Goon). I couldn’t have picked a better writer for this book. Boom has been nailing it lately with titles like Plainjanes, The Woods and Evil Empire. “What the hell is Gracie Law Doing Here?”

Kevin Smith returns to comics this week with Batman 66′  Meets The Green Hornet #1!

Clerk’s Kevin Smith writes a six issue mini series set around the continuity of the crossover of both classic tv shows! (when is that darn DVD set coming out anyway?)

Next up is the return of one of the shop’s most beloved titles, Tiny Titans Return To The Treehouse #1!

Art and Franco return to the title that made them all ages heroes. Eisner Award winning! Don’t be a dud and think this is only for kids. It’s appeal is weaving old DC continuity into jokes that resonate with both young and old readers. Only $2.99! Six issues mini series!  Awe Yeah!

The collection you’ve been waiting for, After Life With Archie Volume One Graphic Novel!

You’ve heard us pimp this book out again and again and we’re about to do it again. Not your average Archie tale, definitely for adults. The first five issues for $17.99! There’s even a comic shop only cover coming in.

Also this week we’ll be getting a huge Kid Robot Marvel Designer Toy drop in!

We’ll be getting in Marvel Micro Munny’s series two, Marvel Mini Labbit’s series two (pictured above), Marvel Munny Zipper Pulls series two, and a giant Marvel Deadpool Labbit! More than enough for designer toy collectors to make a run through the shop!

This week is the start of DC’s new accessible variant program! In response to readers having difficulty obtaining variants with artwork that DC is realy proud of, they have made their themed variants open to unlimited order. What this means to you is that our shop will be making all DC Bombshell variants cover price this month! This week we have three variant covers by Ant Lucia!

Action Comics #32 Bombshell Variant $3.99 (also a DOOMED tie in)

Earth 2 #24 Bombshell Variant $2.99

Green Lantern #32 Bombshell Variant $2.99

Please be advised that to keep this program going, you may not flip our your regular pre-ordered book for a Bombshell Variant. You need to state that you would like to get the variant instead of you regular title at least one month before the book’s release date. (If we allowed this we would wind up with a big stack of regular covers) Obviously you may buy the variant as an additional cover when you come in. While this information doesn’t help you much with this month’s variant covers, it will help next month and as the program goes on. (Next month’s themed variants are Batman 75th anniversary variants) We are committed to getting you these books at cover price while also preventing the whole thing from being a loser to us. (So bear with us, we’re trying!)

To cement it all, the Black Canary Bombshell Statue comes out this Wednesday too.

We also have a Batgirl Bombshell in stock. Both statues are out of print at DC Direct and retail for $124.95.
