Last minute cheat sheet for Saturday December 20th

ChristmasBannerThe biggest shopping day of the year is almost here! Here’s a quick reference guide to everything going on at the shop on Saturday December 20th!

Starting right at 10am the following sales take place:

  • 50% off ALL Back Issues
  • 20% off ALL Graphic Novels
  • 20% off ALL Action Figures, T-Shirts and Statues
  • 10% off EVERYTHING else in the shop

You will also receive two things with every purchase:

Christmas_magazineAll day long you will be able to participate in our art show / food drive for the Cleveland Food Bank (In conjunction with Pop The Comic Culture Club)

Bring in a can of food and get a ticket. (or) Donate a dollar and get a ticket. (We also do six tickets for $5) Tickets can be used in two ways. To buy comics out of the dollar bins or to be placed into a basket raffle to win custom covers by local artists like this:

There’s a lot of them and you’ll have a chance to win them all. There is no limit to the amount of cans of food you can bring in for tickets. (or the amount of money you can donate for tickets for that matter)

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EFFORT GOES TO THE CLEVELAND FOOD BANK. The Cleveland Food Bank turns $1 into four meals.

We will close down between 7pm and 8pm to get ready for our Christmas Party!

We’ll open up promptly again at 8pm where all the above will still be in effect.

All are welcome to the Christmas Party but bring in an invite or print this out to receive 33% off one item!

PosrcardfrontOur Pop Up Bar will be open at 8pm and we’ll be tapping our custom made Gingerbread Christmas Stout from Cleveland Action Brewery.

Beer_LabelOther refreshments will be served along with custom made treats from Darkside Deserts.

All food and refreshments are free.

(Sometimes people like to bring stuff to the party. We love cookies and bakery.)

Around 9pm we’ll be getting a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. (Carol is feeling under the weather so we’ll be having a surprise sub Mrs. Claus who looks a lot like my wife. Fear not! Carol promises to make a cameo appearance) Photo’s will be taken by the hollydious Laura Wimbels, so feel free to wear your holiday best.

SantaWe’ll be drawing all the winners of the covers live at 10:30pm, so be sure to get all your tickets where they need to be by then. You do not need to be present to win but if you do you walk away with your prize that night!

(At one point at the party you’ll be having a great time and really feeling that Christmas Spirit. This is the point where you buy more tickets and put them in the baskets. You’re not really gambling because all this money goes to feed the needy during the holidays. There’s just ALSO a chance you might win something really special.)

At 11pm we will get any last minute purchases in and shut down the shop.

Each year this party is our way of saying thank you for choosing to be part of our community. The right people with the right music sharing stories with their friends about their favorite comics. That’s the stuff right there.
