Convergence and New Comic Releases for 4-1-2015
Get ready for the biggest new comic book day so far this year, including lots of books to get you ready for Avengers 2, along with action figures galore, and DC’s Convergence.
Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, April 1st, 2015.
We have to start out with the big news, “Every story matters” again with DC’s Convergence #0.
DC Convergence is a nine part weekly mini series stretching across the months of April and May that will lead into 40 new two issue mini series set in different DC timelines. While the New 52 isn’t over, we’re not stuck there anymore.
Here’s all the information we collected on this series and it’s tie in’s.
You can join in at whatever level you feel comfortable and we are supporting this event to it’s fullest. We have personally been waiting for this moment for quite some time. Here’s another article that really got us excited, on all the key comic issues they pulled the time lines from.
All of DC’s weekly titles wrap up this week in Batman Eternal #52, New 52 Future’s End #48 and Earth 2 World’s End #26 (pictured).
There will also be a handful of one-shot Annuals this week too, like Batman and Robin Annual #3 (pictured), Batwoman Annual #2, Batman Superman Annual #2, Sinestro Annual #1 and Teen Titans Annual #1.
Marvel’s got a lot going on this week too, including some brand new Avengers titles to get you ready for the movie on May 1st.
Rick Remender and Jerome Opena provide us with an all new original hardcover this week. Ultron takes over Thanos’ home planet of Titan and the Avengers (including the original Ant Man Hank Pym) head in for the rescue.
Also on the slate is Avengers Ultron Forever #1.
A three issue mini series set 500 years in the future and drawn by Alan Davis. Ultron has taken over the Earth and Dr. Doom must recruit a team of Avengers from across the time stream.
Also this week is Avengers Millennium #1, Avengers #43, a collection of classic Scarlet Witch stories, and the Avengers Marvel Legends Action Figures.
Also, the Avengers 2 Pop Fun’s will be hitting the table at noon on Wednesday. You won’t have to drive all over town to put a set together if you jump on this time sensitive opportunity! Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor and what is sure to be the short shipped Vision.
Still not enough? How about the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Series 2 Pop Fun’s as well?
Other action figure selections include The Batman Animated Man Bat, Robin and Joker Figures, the One-12 Collective Batman Dark Knight Action Figure, and a new Batman Black and White Statue designed by Francis Manapul.. (and the Arrow Deadshot and Dark Archer Figures! Whew)
Marvel’s got one more trick up their sleeve that I’m excited about, Kanan the Last Padawan #1.
Fans of Star Wars Rebels should be on the lookout for this new ongoing telling the back story of this controversial Jedi. We’ll get to see what lead up to him deciding to “run”.
There’s so much more this week that it was impossible to cover it all. You’ll just have to stop by this week and check it all out. Remember to mark your calendars for our Thom Zahler signing from noon until 2pm on Saturday, April 18th if you’re a My Little Pony fan, and start to check out what books you want for Free Comic Book Day at www.freecomicbookday.com (Much more info to come!)
