Featured New Releases for 3-16-2016
Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 16th, 2016.
EASTER
Time to start your Easter shopping and we’ve got stuff to help you fill up those baskets! A huge inventory of superhero action figures, pop funs, buttons, magnets, bottle openers, pub glasses (why not?), playing cards and of course comic books and graphic novels. (Gift certificates too)
BATMAN vs SUPERMAN
Batman vs Superman will be dominating next week, but this is also a pretty good week for Superman fans.
Superman #50! This extra sized issue has a meeting between the New 52 Superman and the pre Flashpoint Superman. It’s also one of three poly bagged variants this week, along with Superman Wonder Woman #27 and Robin Son of Batman #10. We know now that random issues have autographs inside by artists as well as actors.
Neal Adams continues both writing and drawing Superman Coming of the Supermen #2 this week. Kal leads a team from Kandor against this hordes of Apocalypse. (Quite a parallel to what’s going in with the rapture out of Kandor over in Dark Knight III)
A staff favorite, Superman American Alien #5 tells another one off story about Clark Kent’s pre Superman days. Clark patrols the city as “the flying man” and encounter his first super powered threat. Art by Francis Manapul.
We’ll also have $1.00 reprints of Superman Unchained #1 by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee, a new Superman Golden Age graphic novel, as well as a deluxe Silver Age Batman Superman World’s Finest hardcover.
IDW
We’re also featuring another IDW What If story, the Ghost Buster Deviations One Shot.
This stand alone story asks the question, ‘What if the Ghostbusters never crossed the streams?” (and the Stay-Puft Marsh-mellow Man conquered New York.)
IRON MAN
Marvel’s doubling down on Iron Man titles with International Iron Man #1.
This title will also be written by Brain Bendis with art by his Daredevil partner Alex Maleev. More of a Tony Stark political thriller as opposed to the heroics of Invincible. Maleev is a personal favorite.
CAROL AND STEPHEN
As everyone who’s visited the shop knows, Carol loves Green Arrow, and by proxy is a big fan of Stephen Amell. We finally got a chance for her to meet up with Stephen in Chicago at a wine mixer for Nocking Point Wines, a winery he owns with Andrew Harding. http://nockingpointwines.com/
They say never to ask a celebrity for a kiss, so what does Carol do…
Thanks to Erin Caruso http://supergrouphugs.com/ for this great art piece we had the boys sign for mom.
Carol would like me to add a thank you to all of you for shopping at the store and thereby helping this dream to come true. She’s loved Green Arrow since Mike Grell’s Longbow Hunters in 1987. Thanks from me as well. 🙂
DON”T FORGET MARCH 18TH PEOPLE!
If you feel the need to dig into this character just ask a staff member for direction. There are so many good Punisher stories out there and we love recommending them to people! Enjoy!
