DC Rebirth and Civil War II

We’ve got a lot of ground to cover this week between DC Rebirth and Civil War II, so let’s jump right in!
Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, June 1st 2016.

REBIRTH

DC Rebirth was a universal hit last week. Just take a look around the internet. (no wait, don’t do that, it’s dangerous.) We sold over 500 copies in a week making it our best selling book of the year. While the book is going to a $5.99 second print, we still have about a hundred first prints at $2.99! We went long and it paid off.

This week we’ve got four DC Rebirth Specials coming out. I’ve read them all, and they all have a component that takes you back to the characters legacy. Good stuff across the board.

Batman Rebirth #1

Batman Rebirth #1: Ex CIA agent and cult writer Jeff King (The Vision, Omega Men) takes over with a little help from Scott Snyder as Batman trains a new protege.
Green Arrow Rebirth #1: A full issue of Ollie and Black Canary and the return of the goatee.
Green Lanterns Rebirth #1: Earth now has two Lanterns protecting it, and they’ve got to learn to work together.
Superman #1: This is our Superman, the one who died in the 90’s and has been hiding out in Superman: Lois and Clark

Green Lanterns #1 If you want to follow the story be advised that books coming out on June 1st, June 8th, and June 15th will be difficult to get, so be sure to make the proper changes to your file. Here’s a checklist for June to help you out:

CIVIL WAR

Marvel’s Civil War II officially begins this week with issue #1, and we’ve go some free-bies to go with it as usual.

Civil Waar II #1 Iron Man verse Captain Marvel! It’s a very dense and well written issue that clearly lays out what the conflict will be about. Lots of classic Bendis dialogue. You can tell he took his time with this one. We’ve got free Lithographs, Daily Bugle Newspapers and Civil War II Previews comics to give out to everyone. Buy one book and you’ll walk out with a stack of stuff.

Civil_War_II_1_Cho_Lithograph Deadpool’s got another one of his $9.99 issues this week and it’s actually four full comic books combined into one. A crossover tale with Daredevil, Powerman and Iron Fist, as well as a flashback issue. Lots of cool variants including this 1:52 Rebirth Variant.

DARK HORSE DAY

Dark Horse has declared Saturday June 4th to be Dark Horse Day! We’re not exactly sure what that means but we’ve got a Free Comic Book to give away created especially for the day with some hard to get material, as well as a new Buffy the Vampire story for you completists out there.

If you’re a Buffy fan, there’s also a new original graphic novel due Wednesday and set during her High School years. Super exciting because it’s written by Faith Erin Hicks, writer of The Nameless City.
