Yelpers Assemble!

Some of you may have heard that the people at Yelp! (if you haven’t heard of Yelp! please check out the Cleveland Yelp! page Here) have a bit of a club for Elite members where they hold parties, have a good time, and everyone enjoys themselves.  Well they chose our shop most recently for their Elite event.  The Below is the article found here and some subsequent reviews of the event here!

Cleveland Yelpers Assemble! at Carol & John’s Comic Shop

With the filming of The Avengers in downtown Cleveland sizzling the box office, why not celebrate our comic roots? I mean, we *do* have the Superman House in our own backyard (ahem, bragging rights…) Carol & John’s Comic Shop know what’s up, so they flew in like a superhero and helped us host a victorious Yelp party with superpower panache! Long time yelper, George S, said it best: “I’ve never been to a Yelp Party… now, I’ll try to be a regular. To put it simply, it was so cool!”

Yelpers checked-in and were able to browse the thousands of comics, figurines and nostalgia all over the shop. Each guest got a free hardcover and paperback as a gift from the shop owner himself and gaming stations were set up for unlimited play. No Yelp CLE Elite event would be complete without a killer photobooth! Carol & John provided real-life size replicas of Captain America’s shield and Thor’s Hammer, while One Red Door Photography snapped the hilarity that ensued. See all the pictures HERE!

The Red Lantern is actually not the Green Lantern’s cousin, but could have been the way they saved the night with delicious noms! Elites nibbled on a spread of fresh fish fry bites, homemade mini meatballs, cheeses and veggies galore. Peace, Love & Little Donuts took care of all our sweet teeth with mini donuts adored with pretty toppings in tons of unique flavor combinations, like maple bacon! And a thirsty yelper is never a good thing, so Cleveland Action Brewery swooped in with their cape and cooler full of hometown brewed goodness. Apple Pie Ale anyone? How about a Strawberry Chocolate Stout? Guests were even allowed to take home the commemorative Yelp bottles!YelpersAssembleCollage4Each guest was entered to win an enormous gift basket chock-full of comic-themed goodies, like an Avengers lunch box, DVDs, and more! Winners also scored two tickets to Scene Ale Fest and a social media photo shoot with One Red Door Photography. Congrats to yelpers Pamela M and Matthew M for lucking out in the raffle!
