Final Days of Holiday Sale and Art Show Results
We are proud to announce that with your help our yearly art show for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has set a new record!
This year we we will be able to assist the Food Bank in creating 20,360 meals to those in need. (The previoud record was 14,276.) To put that record in perspective, they can serve a meal every minute non stop for two weeks straight, so please give yourself a round of applause.)
We learned alot this year and some of the changes that have been made due to CoVid will remain in place next year. Our Facebook Live Show went off without a hitch really, and it was really fun to see everyone in the audience.
Even if you didn’t win a cover you still win big by being a part of this effort. Thanks to the artists who contributed their time and talents, and thank to everyone who bought tickets or spread the word about the show. We know that even though 2020 left you alot of free time, it didn’t really feel like it, so thanks for taking the time to help us out.
We look forward to having the Holiday Party again next year, but we’re very happy with how this year worked out.
Oh yeah! Free Comic Book Day 2021 has an actual date now, August 14th 2021. Let’s see how that goes. <https://www.freecomicbookday.com/>
So! Does the postal service got you down this year? We’re still open! Wednesday AND Thursday will be regular hours, and Ben will stay till 8pm on Christmas Eve for your last minute shopping needs. He says it’s a tradition, so stop by and grab a last minute gift certificate or whatever.
Up to and including the 24th we still have:
- 50% off back issues
- 20% off statues and action figures
- 20% off graphic novels
- 10% off everything else in the shop
Thank you for shopping local this holiday season!
Here’s some quick featured new releases for 12-23-2020!
Donny’s Cates’ King in Black continues with issue #2 this week.
King Size Conan is a giant $6.99 one shot full of new short stories including one by Chris Claremont and Turtle’s creator Kevin Eastman’s first offical work for Marvel! (writing and drawing!)
DC has another Death Metal One Shot and I actually really liked it. It’s the first time Superboy Prime has been written as anything other than a jerk.
We cannot stress enough that file customers should fill out a DC Future State checklist to have books held in January and February. Not only are the numbers hard to figure out, but all DC Distribution is moving to Lunar so their work load just doubled. There’s a chance for a system failure outside of our control so help us help you by getting those preorders in!
We also ask that everyone make an effort to completely clear out your file by year end, we do get taxed on unsold protect at year’s end so we need to get it off that shelf and into your hands.
We will of course be closed on Christmas Day! Happy Holidays from Carol and I and the entire CNJComics staff!
