Featured New Releases for 4-7-2021 at CNJComics

We’ve got some great news! We are again in talks with Chris Claremont to have him come out for Free Comic Book Day on August 14th, the new offical date for the event! Hopefully things will shape up enough by then for this to become a reality. We will keep at it and hope for the best!

So what are we going to do this year on that first Saturday in May in lieu of Free Comic Book Day? Get ready for…

NOT FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!

Not Free Comic Book Day will be an historic ‘event’ where (for the first time in our history) we will pull ALL the books out of our back room and storage locker and put them in the extra storefront (the one we usually use for FCBD 100 feet from the shop) at only $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) It’s got to be around 200 long boxes with a range of Marvel, DC and Independant. (especially independant, as these books are never stocked in the shop. We’ll even do this on Sunday May 2nd and we’re even rolling around the idea of a sneak peak on Friday night from 8pm to 11pm. There will also be an associated sale in our regular storefront which we have yet to define. So mark your calendars!

On to our featured new releases!

MARVEL COMICS

King in Black finishes up this week with issue #5!

We’ve also got a new issue of Venom to tie in to and compliment the story!

Avengers #44 will finally reveal who the next host for the Phoenix Force will be!

Both new Star Wars High Republic issues come out this week, High Republic #4 and High Republic Adventures #3.

DC COMICS

Over at DC there’s a new Green Lantern #1, featuring John Stewart and Keli Quintela and her Green Gauntlet!

Future State Batman Tim Fox continues his adventures in The Next Batman Second Son #1 written by John Ridley.

INDIE COMICS

At the top of out indie pile is Gieger, by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank!

“Who are the scavengers of a dying earth? GEIGER is set in the years since a nuclear war ravaged the planet, desperate outlaws battle for survival in a world of radioactive chaos. Out past the poisoned wasteland lives a man even the Nightcrawlers and Organ People fear. Some name him Joe Glow, others call him The Meltdown Man. But his name… is Geiger.” You know, the guys that did Doomsday Clock!

We’re also excited for yet another horror anthology from Image in the vein of Ice Cream Man and Haha. (except this one is by Chip Zdarsky!)

“Each issue will tell a tale of terror in a shared supernatural world. The story starts in 1978 with a failing rock band whose fortune suddenly changes when they find the mysterious Silver Coin. Little do they know that fame comes with a cost, and a curse is always hungry.”

Also being added to our “Try Something New and Independant” section, volume one of the Seven Secrets graphic novels by Tom Taylor.

“For centuries, the Order has trusted in Keepers and Holders to guard the Secrets in seven briefcases against all harm but when their stronghold is attacked and the secrets put in peril, the entire Order must face an enemy who knows too much…”

For fans of Magic the Gathering, Boom Studios have taken over the property and releases a new #1.

Lastly, for our courageous young readers out there, Dear Super Villains is sure to be hit as young kids write letters to Super Villians to ask them importatn questions about life.

That’s it everyone! At this point we are working our way through pricing four new collections, so be sure to dig through the new back issue bins every week, we fill them daily!
