We’re looking at a week with some great artwork, new titles, and stuff we’re really excited about! (including the start of DC’s new accessible variant program starting with this week’s Bombshell variants!) Let’s take a look at our featured new releases for the week of Wednesday, June 4th, 2014! We’re going to start with an indie release that’s gotten quite a bit of buzz around the shop! Big Trouble in Little China #1 from BOOM Studios! It’s one of those things you either get or you don’t. One of my top 20 movies of all time. The ultimate anti hero written by Eric Powell (the Goon). I couldn’t have picked a better writer for this book. Boom has been nailing it lately with titles like Plainjanes, The Woods and Evil Empire. “What the hell is Gracie Law Doing Here?”

We’ve got some really fun images and product to share and showcase this week! Here’s some featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, May 28th! First up is a blast from the past, Thanos Annual #1! Not only do you have Thanos going up against Mephisto in this self contained story, it’s also written and drawn by the original team from Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos Quest, Jim Starlin and Rom Lim! We’ll have Lim and Starlin variants for this book on sale for cover price when the shop opens up at noon. It’s a Guardians of The Galaxy kind of week, as the energy from the new trailer gets us even more excited for 8-1-2014! It’s time for our second annual Comic Book Heritage Night at Great Lakes Brewery! Over the past year Cleveland’s comic book art scene has gotten quite a bit of support from the folks at Great Lakes. From hosting a monthly drink and draw, to helping out with the beer at our events, and even volunteering on Free Comic Book Day. Comic Book Heritage Night is our yearly event  where we step on out of the shop and head down to the brewery to support them in their en devour. It’s a really cool chance to interact with local artists, learn a little bit about Cleveland’s rich comic book history, and drink some beer (of course) Each year we hope to grow the scope of the event, by adding different elements here and there.
